The Reverend Dr. Emmett Lee Jimerson was born and raised in Reform, Alabama. He attended and graduated from the public schools in Reform. He continued his education at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he earned a B.S. degree in Sociology. While attending Stillman, he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Additionally, he holds degrees from the Interdenominational Theological Seminary - Morehouse School of Religion: Master of Christian Education, Master of Divinity, and
Doctor of Philosophy in Theology.
Upon early graduation from Stillman, Reverend Jimerson enlisted and served in the United States Army. After completing his tour of duty, he joined, operated, and expanded the family business to as many as five daycare centers in Atlanta, Georgia.
Reverend Jimerson was ordained as a deacon at Salem Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia under the leadership of Reverend Jasper Williams. As Deacon, he served in numerous capacities, including: deacon representative to the choir, Sunday school teacher, new member orientation leader, tribe leader, workshop facilitator, and sick and shut-in visitation committee member.
In 2002, Reverend Jimerson was ordained to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, he is a member and pastor of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Luthersville (Greenville), Georgia where he has served as pastor for the past 22 years. He has served as Moderator of the Cane Creek Baptist Association and he is Chaplain for the North Springs Hospice. Most importantly, he loves God and diligently seeks to serve Him by remaining true to his calling to preach the gospel, teach the Word, visit the sick, help those in need, and make a positive difference in the lives of others. Rev. Dr. Jimerson often says, "Zion Hill MBC is the church where miracles really happen."
Reverend Jimerson is the proud father of three children and four grandchildren. He is also the proud finisher of the Atlanta Journal Peachtree Road Race (2016-2023)!
